Storage tips for Melon Blackberry Herb Salad

Ideally, consume the salad within 1-2 days for optimal flavor and texture. The longer it is stored, the fruit may become softer and less fresh. Place any remaining salad in an airtight container or cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate promptly to maintain freshness.

It’s best to store the dressing separately if you have added it to the salad. The dressing can make the fruit soggy over time, so it’s better to add it just before serving. If you added additional mint and basil leaves as garnish, remove them before storing the salad. These herbs are delicate and can wilt or discolor if stored with the fruit.

Before serving any leftover salad, gently toss it again to redistribute the flavors and ensure even distribution of the dressing. Remember, the texture of the fruit may change slightly upon refrigeration, but the salad should still be enjoyable.

The dressing

This recipe includes a quick squeeze of lime and a tablespoon of sweetener to the salad. It’s delicious! But if you want to level this recipe up a notch add the Date Lime Dressing. It’s truly decadent!
