Print Recipe
Title in square: DIY Avocado Aloe Face Mask with 4 photos of Avocado, Aloe and Lemon, and person with mask and then clean face

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera leaf or aloe vera gel (check ingredients if store bought)
  • Juice of half a lemon (optional)

Instructions

  • Begin by scooping out the flesh of a ripe avocado and placing it in a mixing bowl.
  • Mash the avocado until it's smooth and free of lumps.
  • Add the juice of half a lemon to the mashed avocado. The lemon juice will provide a gentle exfoliating effect and help brighten the skin.
  • Measure out 2 tablespoons of aloe vera scooped out from aloe leaves or use vegan aloe gel and add it to the mixture. Aloe vera has soothing and moisturizing properties that are great for the skin.
  • Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until it's consistent and smooth.
  • Cleanse your face to remove any dirt or makeup before applying the mask.
  • Using clean fingers or a cosmetic brush, apply an even layer of the mask to your face, avoiding the delicate eye and lip areas.
  • Relax and let the mask sit for about 15-20 minutes. Use this time to unwind and enjoy the refreshing sensation.
  • Once the time is up, gently rinse off the mask with lukewarm water. You can use a soft washcloth or your hands to help remove the mask.
  • Pat your face dry with a clean towel and follow up with your regular moisturizer if desired.
  • Remember that lemon juice can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, so it's best to apply this mask in the evening (or skip the lemon) and also use sunscreen during the day if you plan to go outside.

Notes

Important Notes:
Always do a patch test before using any new skincare product to ensure that you don't have any adverse reactions. If you experience any irritation, redness, or discomfort, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist. Enjoy your vegan avocado, lemon, and aloe face mask for a refreshing and revitalizing skincare treat!
When removing mask, it's best to do it in a sink with a garbage disposal or a fine screen over the drain to catch bigger particles, so that you do not clog your sink.
