Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoons coconut milk (or any other plant-based milk)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave (optional, for added moisture)
  • 5 drops essential oil (optional, such as lavender or rosemary) for fragrance

Instructions

  • Peel the ripe banana and place it in a bowl. Use a fork to mash it thoroughly until no lumps remain.
  • Pour in the coconut milk (or your preferred plant-based milk) and mix it with the mashed banana until you have a smooth paste.
  • Melt the coconut oil if it's solid, then add it to the banana mixture. Coconut oil helps moisturize and condition the hair.
  • If you'd like extra moisture and a touch of sweetness, add agave syrup or maple syrup to the mixture and blend well.
  • If you want to add a pleasant scent to your mask, include a few drops of your chosen essential oil. Lavender or rosemary essential oil can be great options for hair care.
  • lend all the ingredients until you have a consistent and creamy mixture.

Application:

  • Start with clean, damp hair.
  • Gently massage the mask into your scalp using your fingertips. This helps stimulate circulation and ensures the mask is evenly distributed.
  • Once your hair is coated, gather it on top of your head and secure it with a clip or hair tie. You can also cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap.
  • Allow the mask to sit on your hair for about 20-30 minutes. This gives the ingredients time to nourish and condition your hair.
  • After the waiting time, rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. Make sure there are no banana pieces left in your hair.
Rinse in a sink that has a garbage disposal or use a fine screen mesh over the drain so that larger pieces do not clog your drain.
  • Wash your hair with a gentle shampoo to remove any remaining residue. Follow with your regular conditioner

Notes

Frequency: You can use this banana hair mask once a week or as needed to add moisture and shine to your hair.
Note: If you have any allergies or sensitivities to the ingredients, it's best to perform a 24 hour patch test before applying the mask to your hair.
