Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (white or brown)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted to liquify) - (food grade)
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor (food grade)

Instructions

  • Measure out 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. You can use white or brown sugar, depending on your preference. Brown sugar is slightly softer and can be gentler on the lips.
  • Melt 1 tablespoon of coconut oil if it's solid. You can do this by microwaving it for a few seconds or gently heating it on the stovetop. Make sure it's not too hot, just melted.
  • Add 1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the melted coconut oil. Vanilla extract not only adds a pleasant flavor but also has a delightful scent.
  • Mix the granulated sugar, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, and optional essential oil (if using) together until well combined. You should have a slightly gritty but spreadable consistency.
  • Transfer the lip scrub mixture to a clean, small container with a lid. An empty lip balm container or a small glass jar works well.

How to use

  • Apply a small amount of the lip scrub to your lips.
  • Gently massage in circular motions for about 1-2 minutes to exfoliate.
  • Rinse off with warm water or wipe off with a damp cloth.
  • Follow up with a vegan lip balm to lock in moisture.
